Paytm Enables UPI Payments for NRIs Using International Mobile Numbers

In a landmark move for global digital banking, Paytm has introduced a feature allowing Non-Resident Indians (NRIs) to use UPI services with their international mobile numbers.

This means NRIs living in countries like the US, UK, UAE, Canada, Australia, Singapore, Oman, Qatar, and Saudi Arabia can now send and receive money in India without needing an Indian SIM card.

Key Highlights:

No Indian SIM required: Use your international number directly on Paytm.

Faster access: Connect seamlessly to your Indian bank accounts.

Supported countries: 12 nations in the first rollout phase.

This move by Paytm aligns with the Government of India’s Digital India mission, making financial access easier for the global Indian diaspora.

“This update is not just about payments , it’s about staying connected to India effortlessly,” said a fintech expert.
